RACE 1 – SUMMER RACING @ NEWCASTLE PACEWAY PACE – 2030 metres

At the request of connections MOONLIGHT CRUISER was inspected by the club’s veterinary surgeon who reported the gelding was suffering a respiratory tract infections and recommended that MOONLIGHT CRUISER be withdrawn.  Stewards adopted this recommendation at 5.51pm.  Stewards adopted the veterinary surgeon’s recommendation that MOONLIGHT CRUISER not race for a period of 14 days.

Pre race blood samples were collected from FASHION MISS.

D Gatt-Bouquet (FASHION MISS) was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to ensure the mare was fully in position at the starting point.

SUR LE FEU NZ (B Elder) broke stride as the field moved into the first turn to drop back and settle at the rear of the field.  A warning was issued.

QUICK INCOME NZ (W Rixon) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.

DAWN MAGIC (D Elder) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.

NORTHERN LINE (S Harmey) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.

OUR DREAM TO REALITY NZ which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 2 – CLUB MENANGLE WHERE HORSES FLY HEAT – 1609 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from DELIGHTFUL BABE.

CANT EXPLAIN IT NZ (G Bull) which was draw on the outside of the second line broke stride in the early stages of the score up which resulted in the gelding being out of position at the starting point.  A warning was issued and connections were informed that the gelding will continue to be drawn wide.

ROCKNLACHLAN which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 3 – TAB PACE – 2030 metres

ELITE BOBBY (P Hedges) broke stride part way through the score up which resulted in the gelding being out of position at the start.  In view of the gelding’s limited race experience connections were informed that ELITE BOBBY will be excluded from the barrier draw for the immediate future.

WALLAROY BOY (L Hosking) broke stride shortly after the start was affected and a warning was issued.

BELLE OF BROOKLYN NZ (B Elder) and MISS STREISAND NZ (C Geary) locked wheels in the latter stages of the score up.

DIVAS DESTINY (G Andrews) gave ground over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 4 – CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES HEAT – 1609 metres

CAMEOS KIWI (B Mantle) broke stride in the early stages of the score up which resulted in the gelding being out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

PLATINUM PENNY (R Atkins) hung in as the field negotiated the first turn which momentarily restricted the racing room of PAY ME THE CHANGE NZ (L Manzelmann) which was racing on its inside and as a result that gelding raced roughly for a short distance.  A warning was issued against PLATINUM PENNY.

FOR THE BETTOR (J Callaghan) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.

VEIRA (J Gallagher) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.

AMIGHTYFINEHORSE which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 5 – SHARP ELECTRONICS GROUP PACE – 2030 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from BLACK SILOUETTE.

SHAREAPASSION was inspected by the club’s veterinary surgeon prior to the event who reported the gelding fit to take its place in the field.

BRIDGET BLUE CHIP NZ which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 6 – TOOHEYS PACE – 2030 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from KLEENED OUT NZ.

PLAIN BABY (K Turner) had a tendency to shift out when placed under pressure in the run home.

MSFLIBBERTIGIBBET (L Sutton) which raced mid field gave ground over the concluding stages to finish well back beaten in excess of 80 metres.  A subsequent veterinary inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities.  After an inquiry where Stewards deemed the performance of the mare to be unsatisfactory MSFLIBBERTIGIBBERT was stood down until it can requalify.

ITS ALLABOUT ALICE which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 7 – NEWCASTLE TRANSPORT SPECIALISTS PACE – 2030 metres

TENFOUR (S Harmey) which raced towards the rear of the field on the marker pegs had a tendency to hang out at varying stages during the event.

TWO TATZ PATZ (D Morgan) and WITHERSPOON (E Nichols) gave ground in the final lap to finish towards the rear of the field.

 

RACE 8 – COCA COLA PACE – 2030 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from BELLA LCARE.

J Kennedy (SANDY LOCHINVAR) was suspended for 14 days under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when manoeuvring wider on the track from the two wide line shortly after the field entered the back straight in the final lap done so without clearance over MILLY BROMAC NZ (L Sutton) which was progressing to its outside and as a result MILLY BROMAC NZ blundered to drop back sharply and severely check ROBYN TAYLOR (G Greenwood) which was racing behind.  When considering this matter Stewards took into account J Kennedy’s record in addition to his guilty plea.

BELLA CLARE which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.  

 

RACE 9 – WOLF BLASS THREE YEAR OLD PACE – 2030 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from IONA DIAMOND and HUMMING TOP.

QUEENIE JIM (A Bourke) broke stride in the early stages of the score up which resulted in the filly being out of position at the start.  After an inquiry where Stewards took into account QUEENIE JIM’S race history connections were informed that the filly will be excluded from the barrier draw for the immediate future.

HUMMING TOP (R Adams) which was drawn in barrier six on the front line was out of position despite the efforts of its driver and will continue to be drawn wide.

IONA DIAMOND (L Manzelmann) broke stride after the start was affected and a warning was issued.

TAKENOVER (J Trainor) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.
