It was established that near the 400 metres, OUTRAGEOUS EL NZ obtained an advantaged on JEDI MIND and shifted out before pacing inside the line of that runner. It was further established that although racing inside the line of JEDI MIND, no interference was suffered. Racing towards the 250 metres, it was established that Driver J Trainor had moved his body out in the direction of JEDI MIND as Mr Trainor had the view that would provide him a brace position and reduce the impact of interference if interference occurs. On review Stewards were unable to establish any contact between Mr Trainor and JEDI MIND. Stewards advised Mr Trainor that in the circumstances no action will be taken however he was reminded that when shifting ground, he must do so in a safe manner and display greater care. Additionally, Mr Trainor was advised that he must ensure that in future he does not direct his body towards the running of any runners as this action is considered improper and a repeat of this may result in action being taken against his licence.

Driver L Manzelmann (JEDI MIND) was questioned into his driving over the concluding stages of the event and the action of his drive which shifted wider under driving which permitted a run for EH EF EL NZ to his inside passing the 150 metres. Mr Manzelmann explained that he was looking to maintain his line however his gelding continued to shift wider which has been a characteristic of his gelding. Mr Manzelmann stated that near the 150 metres he had angled slightly wider to move to the outside of OUTRAGEOUS EL NZ to ensure clear running. Stewards noted his explanation as it was not found that Mr Manzelmann had directed his drive wider. Mr Manzelmann was advised that he must ensure in further he maintains his true line of running.
