RACE 1 – TAB APP PACE - 1980M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from TICKET OUTA HERE.

SUMMER MONEY was held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

GALLIFREY PENNY commenced to tire over the concluding stages of the event.

A post-race sample was taken from TEPARY which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 2 – THE PUB GROUP GOLD NUGGET RACE MEETING WEDNESDAY 16 JANUARY PACE – 1980M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from WHAT A FLIGHT.

CALYPSON SHANNON galloped out at the start, which resulted in the trailing runner LONG DIRT ROAD being checked consequently breaking stride and in turn checking COMMANCHE. It was issued with a warning for the start.

PACIFIC COIN broke stride after the start. It was issued with a warning for the start.

WISE GODDESS NZ was held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

A post-race sample was taken from TAP IT IN which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 3 – TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL 18TH TO 27TH JANUARY PACE – 1980M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from IFOUDNTHEBEACH.

HALFWAY HOLME broke stride during the score up and was out of positon at the start. It was issued with a warning.

BURMACH broke stride after the start and as a result IFOUNDTHEBEACH was checked. It was issued with a warning for the start.

JOEY TEE pulled hard in the score up and overraced in the early stages of the event.

FELIZ NAVIDAD commenced to tire passing the 500 metres.

SAMMY SLEESTER commenced to tire passing the 400 metres.

A post-race sample was taken from HEDGES AVENUE which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 4 – HYGAIN GOLDEN GUITAR FINAL THIRSDAY 24TH JANUARY PACE - 1609M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from HIGHVIEW FREDDY NZ.

KID MONTANA hung in and contacted marker pegs passing the 700 metres.

C Shepherdson the driver of KID MONTANA was issued a reprimand under AHRR 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when passing the 400 metres, he eased his runner up the track which momentarily inconvenienced the runner to his outside PADRISIMO NZ (B Elder).  

A post-race sample was taken from LEXY CAN WAIT which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 5 – GARRADS HORSE & HOUND TAMWORTH CITY CUP 24TH JANUARY PACE - 1980M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from LETTUCEFIREHARVEY.

JETAWAY JO was fractious during the score up and veered up the track interfering with SOMEROSESOMEWHERE and THE NEXT STAR which resulted in a false start being declared. The mare continued to be fractious during the second score up and was out of position at the start. After taking into account the mare’s recent record at the start, it is now placed outside the draw for mobile starts and required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again.

T Varga the driver of SHADOW PASS NZ was issued a fine of $50 under AHRR 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position behind the gate during the score up.

IS THAT SO shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages of the home straight.

 

RACE 6 – PIT EXPRESS 3YO STAR MAKER PRELUDE - 1980M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from OUR ULTIMATE MARY.

YESNOMAYBESO broke stride rounding the first turn. It was issued with a warning.

AT RANDOM broke stride rounding the first turn and again passing the 1000 metres. After taking into account the gelding’s recent racing record, it is now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again.

STORM BLASTER hung out and locked wheels with MY ULTIMATE ROMEO which checked the trailing ONAHI DELIGHT passing the 700 metres. It was issued with a warning.

A post-race sample was taken from OUR ULTIMATE JULIE which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 7 – DAVID PIKE AND DES CONSTABLE APPRECIATION PACE - 1980M

 

ACES FIRST underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination due to the horse having competed in over 200 race starts and being 13 years of age. No obvious abnormalities were detected.

D Chapple the driver of APOLLON was issued a charge under AHRR 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when rounding the first turn, he shifted his runner down the track without the required clearance over BURNING AMBITION NZ (G Chapple) which was tightened for racing room and checked. This in turn checked the running of ACES FIRST (R Brown) which raced roughly for a short distance. When considering the matter of penalty, Stewards took into account his guilty plea, forthright evidence, recent driving record as well as the fact that APOLLON did have a tendency to hang in at this point and D Chapple did attempt to relieve the pressure. D Chapple had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 10 days, which commenced at midnight on the 6th of January 2019.

A slight easing of the pace from APOLLON checked the trailing MACS CHOICE NZ which raced roughly and in turn checked the running of CHRISTIAN SHANNON which consequently broke stride passing the 1000 metres.

A post-race sample was taken from BURNING AMBITION NZ which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 8 – TAMWORTH HRC RACING CARNIVAL 16TH TO 24TH JANUARY PACE - 1980M

 

STONEBRIDGE ROYAL galloped out at the start and as a result, the trailing FAST IS BETTOR was checked consequently breaking stride. It was issued with a warning for the start.  

THE REBEL KING broke stride shortly after entering the home straight on the first occasion. It was issued with a warning.

M Young the driver of WHATEVERMATE was issued a charge under AHRR 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when passing the 1000 metres, she shifted her runner down the track without clearance over OUR CHANCE TODREAM (S Welsh) which was checked and broke stride. This in turn checked the trailing FAST IS BETTOR which broke stride and ROLAMAX which also broke stride. When considering the matter of penalty, Stewards took into account her guilty plea, forthright evidence, recent driving record and the degree of interference. M Young had her licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days, which commenced at midnight on the 6th of January 2019.

A post-race veterinary examination of STONEBRIDGE ROYAL revealed that the gelding had bled from one of its nostrils. After taking advice from the on course veterinarian, the gelding is now stood down for a period of 3 months, 1 requalifying trial and until such time that a veterinary clearance of fitness is produced.   

 

RACE 9 – WESTS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP PACE - 1609M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from TOPHUT JOHNY.

JAKES ARK broke stride rounding the first turn. It was issued with a warning.

BIG SMOKE SHANNON commenced to tire passing the 700 metres. After taking into account the gelding’s recent racing record, it is now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again.

MONTEREI BAY commenced to tire passing the 500 metres. After taking into account the gelding’s recent racing record, it is now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again.  

 

RACE 10 – SKY SPORTS RADIO PACE  - 1980M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from ALWAYS A LEXUS.

TRUE FEELINGS broke stride rounding the first turn and as a result, the trailing FOR ME was checked.

Upon request from the connections of FOR ME, which had previously been placed outside the draw for mobile starts and performed satisfactorily today, the horse is now re-included back into mobile start draws.

A post-race sample was taken from LOVIN EVERYDAY which was successful in the event.
